It has good heat resistance and long-term durability, as well as a very low compression permanent deformation rate. Compared with traditional non-metallic sealing materials, RCM has relatively long service life, it is usually used in application for higher pressure, higher temperature and stricter sealing requirements.

How Is Rubber-Coated Metal Maintained?

The storage requirements of rubber involved materials see belows, 

Storage temperature: the optimal indoor storage temperature of rubber materials should be controlled between 15 °C and 25 °C. Need to avoid high or low temperature warehouse environment, which will lead to aging or solidification of rubber, affecting the quality of rubber.

Storage humidity: the storage humidity of rubber materials should be controlled between 60 - 70 percent. Avoid too high or too low humidity environment. If the humidity is too high, it may lead to rubber becoming sticky. If the humidity is too low, it will lead to brittle rubber materials.

Storage ventilation requirements: keep a good ventilation environment, avoid moisture and/or heat accumulation, in order to maintain the quality of rubber materials.

How to choose rubber coating type?

According to the temperature of the application site and the type of sealing medium, the type of rubber coating is selected. The commonly used coatings are divided into fluorine rubber coating and NBR coating. 

What are the characteristics of fluorine rubber?

Fluorine rubber is an elastic polymer with fluorine atoms on the carbon atoms of the main chain or side chain of the molecule obtained by polymerization or condensation of fluorine monomer. It has high temperature resistance, oil resistance, high vacuum resistance, resistance to a variety of chemicals, corrosion resistance, atmospheric aging resistance, good physical and mechanical properties, can maintain good performance at high temperature, and can work for a long time at 200 °C ~ 250 °C. Fluorine rubber is widely used in modern aviation, automobile, shipbuilding, chemistry, petroleum, telecommunications, instruments, machinery and other fields.

What are the characteristics of NBR?

NBR is a synthetic rubber, and its oil resistance is second only to polysulfide rubber and fluorine rubber. The heat resistance of NBR is better than that of natural rubber, styrene butadiene rubber and chloroprene rubber, and can be used for a long time at 120 °C in the air. But the cold resistance of NBR is poor, and the higher the content of acrylonitrile is, the poorer the cold resistance is. The air tightness is better, second only to butyl rubber. In addition, NBR also has excellent ozone resistance and electrical insulation performance, as well as good water resistance and chemical corrosion resistance.

Can the laser cutting process be used for processing?

Yes, in laser cutting process, we need to keep the distance between the laser head and the surface of the metal rubber coated material stable so as to ensure the cutting quality and accuracy. In the process of laser cutting, the metal rubber coated material may produce peculiar smell, and it is necessary to keep a good ventilation and smoke exhaust system.
